Barangaroo


Our investment in Barangaroo (International Office Towers 2 & 3) comprises the commercial office towers, ancillary retail and car parking along the waterfront area of the Barangaroo South precinct. Barangaroo South has been awarded a 6 Star Green Star – Communities Rating, scoring an unprecedented 104.98 out of a possible 110 points.

Investment date: August 2013

Darling Square


Our Darling Square investment is a 12-storey A-grade office building located in Sydney’s Darling Harbour precinct. Due for completion in late 2017, the building will also provide a 400-bay public car park, a 50-bay office car park and 1,575sqm of retail space. Darling Square will be one of Australia’s most environmentally sustainable office buildings.

Australian agriculture


We are proud to have taken a leading role in Australian agricultural investments. In partnership with Select Harvests, we have invested in three almond farms located in New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia. The farms cover a total area of 2,500 hectares. We are working with Select Harvests to achieve our target of doubling the planted acreage by 2018.

Bendigo Hospital


Bendigo Hospital will deliver a truly world-class regional hospital which will service the Loddon Mallee region. Incorporating the best elements of modern hospital design from around the world, this new hospital will provide a great work environment for many of our members.

Sunshine Coast University Hospital


Opening in April 2017, the Sunshine Coast University Hospital will revolutionise healthcare on the coast. Highly trained and specialised staff will care for patients with complex or life-threatening conditions, which means about 10,000 patients will not have to travel to Brisbane for complex treatments each year.

Convention, Exhibition and Entertainment Precinct


The International Convention Centre Sydney will be Asia Pacific’s premier integrated convention, exhibition and entertainment precinct. Not only will this precinct cement Sydney’s place as one of the world’s most desirable meeting and event destinations, it will also demonstrate world leadership in sustainable design.

The International Convention Centre Sydney will house one of Australia’s largest solar arrays within a central business district – powering the equivalent of more than 100 homes every year.

NSW Fire & Rescue Academy


This new world-class training facility will be located in Sydney’s west and will be instrumental in training and supporting the next generation of emergency workers. Scheduled for completion in 2017, the academy will play an important role not only in training firefighters but also in boosting the economy of Sydney’s western region.

Renewable energy investments


Through fund manager Equis, we have invested in a number of large-scale renewable energy projects. Equis is an Asian energy and infrastructure specialist. Renewable energy projects in which we have invested include large-scale solar power generation in the Philippines and Thailand, and wind farms and hydro power in India.

In Australia, we are investigating numerous investments in renewable energy with a focus on large-scale wind and solar.

Sydney’s new light rail


The CBD and South East Light Rail is a new light rail network for Sydney, currently under construction. The 12 km route has 19 stops and services will commence in 2019. This mode of transportation will play a big part in reducing pollution levels in the CBD and will create an additional 10,000 jobs (both directly and indirectly) between 2014 and 2020.

Bankstown & Camden airports


Also known as Sydney Metro Airports, Bankstown and Camden Airports are located in western Sydney. The airport land permits a wide variety of uses from light industrial activities to manufacturing and logistics.

This is not just an investment in regional airports, but also in a large amount of underdeveloped land in one of the fastest growing regions in NSW.

Investment date: November 2015

Value of investment: A$235 million (approx.)            

Returns to members: The bulk of returns will come from rental income from industrial tenants and development profits

Blackbird Ventures

Blackbird Ventures is an Australian early-stage IT-focused venture capital fund. They provide equity to Australians wanting to be the best in the world, not just the best in Australia. Canva, an Australian-founded online graphic design platform, is a good example of the businesses that Blackbird Ventures supports. Through this investment we are able to partner with Australia’s best technology businesses.

Value of investment: A$110 million (approx.)

Quotient Clinical

In the health sector, we have invested in UK-based company Quotient Clinical. Quotient Clinical is an innovative pharmaceutical company that integrates drug formulation, real-time manufacturing, and in-patient clinical testing all in one location, allowing for faster clinical timelines. We are supporting the delivery of new medicines that enable faster clinical timelines for the pharmaceutical industry.
