The NSW Regional Women of the Year Award celebrates women who have made significant achievements in areas that are important to regional or rural communities.
Nine years ago, Juliet Duffy started Regional Enviroscience, an occupational and environmental hygiene consultancy out of her rental property garage in Dubbo. Juliet has also made it a point to employ more than 23 local young and mature-aged workers in the fields of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). As a valued member of the Dubbo community, her business assists councils across regional NSW to educate and protect their workers and the community in dealing with hazardous materials.
The success of her business has meant significant employment and economic gains for regional NSW.
Her rich resume also includes:
- A Master of Sustainable Management from the University of Sydney
- Is an expert in the field of naturally occurring asbestos
- A leader and mentor in STEM
- A voluntary board member and Chair of the Western Research Institute
